Rep. Hughes’ HB44 – Election Polling, adds transparency to those that conduct and participate in polls.
Under this legislation, those that conduct polls regarding political candidates or ballot issues would be required to disclose who the poll was paid for.
This bill would also include a fine levied if the organization fails to inform those participating in the poll of that information.
HB44 will be heard in the Senate Government Operations and Political Subdivisions Committee at 2:10 PM in Room 415 of the State Capitol. Immediately following action on the bill, Rep. Hughes will be available to take questions from the media.
