Welcome. We’ve made it through the halfway mark of the Session.

Sen. Mike Lee addressed the House yesterday. You can watch his speech here, and read more about it, courtesy of the Deseret News.

Ever thought you’d hear Rep. Dunnigan talk about corn rows and eyelash tinting? Well, here’s your chance. The House Business and Labor Committee took up hair braiding license, passing it out with a favorable recommendation. HB238 reduces the number of hours it requires to become a licensed cosmetologist from 2,000 to 1,600. The Salt Lake Tribune untangles the issue in this article.

Sen. Hatch visits the House today. We’ll post about it tomorrow, so stay tuned.

Also, it’s media-dubbed “gun day”. Several firearm bills will be heard in committee today. Here’s the agenda’s for both the Law Enforcement and Judiciary committees. Both begin at 2 PM.

In case you missed it, here’s yesterday’s Q&A with the Speaker.

Representative Marc Roberts (District 67) sat down for a minute to speak with us yesterday. He told us a bit about himself in this video.
