Several firearm bills were debated on the floor yesterday. HB121, which provides gun owners a temporary “safe harbor” for their weapons with local law enforcement when their households are under stress, passed through the House. Here’s a bit more about the laws from the Deseret News.
The House gave a citation to the former president of Weber State University, Ann Millner. She oversaw the largest growth thus far in Weber State university. Watch the ceremony here. The Standard-Examiner tells us more about it.
Today in committee, HB228, which calls for the elimination of the “Zion wall”, will be heard. Rep. Wilcox says the “Zion wall” in restaurants does not prevent or discourage underage drinkers. It will be heard in Rev and Tax this morning.
We’re on the floor this morning. Take a look at the third reading calendar to see what’s coming up and read the bills.
We also have a bunch of bills going through committees this afternoon. Go to le.utah.gov to learn about them. The Executive Appropriations Committee also meets for the first time today this session. Come watch live at 210 in the Senate (East) building.
