Morning Buzz: January 30, 2012

Week two begins. Here are some possible highlights for the day.

Higher and Public Education Appropriations Subcommittees begin today at 8. The agendas for both meetings are linked.

During Floor time (10 AM) here are some bills that may come up for a vote:

HB246– County Correctional Facilities Funding Amendments: This bill would ensure efficient use of taxpayer dollars by amending the amount county prisons receive for holding state inmates. This bill passed through the House Political Subdivisions Committee unanimously.

In the Judiciary Committee (2 PM), Rep. Noel will bring forward HB74, Eminent Domain Amendments. This bill permits a person to explore and access the roads necessary for the exploration of oil or gas, if they follow proper requirements.
