We meet on the House floor at ten. Here are a few bills which are on the 3rd Reading Calendar:
House Bill 44: Theft Amendments, Rep. Paul Ray, R- Clearfield. This bill adds some penalties for those convicted of stealing multiple times, and also allows a business owner to prohibit an individual from entering the business’s premise if they have been convicted of shoplifting from that property.
House Bill 81: City or Town Option Sales and Use Tax Amendments, Rep. Brad Dee R- Ogden. This bill amends the ability of a city or town to add additional sales or use taxes and must require a majority vote, and would require such a tax to be in place before July, 1 2016.
Just a reminder: you can check out the Speaker’s Q&A live beginning at 1:45. Submit your questions and watch via our Facebook page.
We have several standing committees meeting today, beginning at 2 PM. Judiciary (20 House), Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice (25 House), Natural Resources (445 Capitol), and Transportation (450 Capitol).
