Recap of March 1, 2016:
Rep. Dunnigan, Mayor McAdams, Mayor Biskupski office and Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce held a press conference on H.B. 437, Health Care Revisions. H.B. 437, sponsored by Rep. Dunnigan, would extend Medicaid coverage to 16,000 of the poorest uninsured Utahns, many of whom are homeless or living with mental illness and substance abuse issues.
Maps Day on the Hill
The fifth Maps on the Hill Day was held on March 1. Professionals and students shared maps, tools and mapping projects with the legislature, fellow practitioners and the public. Maps day is supported by the Utah Geographic Information Council (UGIC) and AGRC.
Rally for Recovery
Hundreds gathered in the Capitol Rotunda for the Rally for Recovery that was sponsored by USARA. The goal of the organization is to raise awareness and advocate the positive impact that prevention, treatment and recovery support has on the community. Rep. Hutchings, Rep. Eliason and Rep. Ray spoke at the event.
