Morning Buzz

Good morning Utah, today we celebrate the 1 week anniversary to the Morning Buzz, the first (and only) morning briefing from the Utah House of Representatives. A big welcome to Holly Richardson, the newly appointed Representative of District 57 in Utah County. Holly was appointed by the Governor earlier this morning and will be sworn in by Speaker Lockhart at 9:45 AM. A shout out to the Utah County Republican Party for running a well organized and smooth special election Saturday Night.

* To follow the daily House schedule check in on each morning. For today’s schedule with the link to audio/video streaming click here.

* A bill to keep your eye on in the wake of last year’s gubernatorial campaign: HB34 House votes to require UDOT to get the permission of the Transportation Commission on any legal settlement costing $100,000 or more, a fallout of a scandal last year.
