Legislators discussed two bills, HB 224 and HB 175, at a press conference early in the day. Reps. Gage Froerer, Keven Stratton and Mike McKell spoke about how these bills increase transparency and efficiency of state and local governments. Check out the press conference here.
It was bring your family to work day!
Today on Capitol Hill, rural counties from all over Utah came to showcase the unique
attributes and concerns of their respective areas. It is also an opportunity for them to discuss policies with their legislators that directly affect rural communities. It is an exciting day for counties to present the incredible characteristics their rural areas have to offer.
Some buses passed the usual bus stops and wound up right outside the Capitol today. UTA brought three buses to show off their latest in environmentally friendly public transportation. Two of the three were busses meant for use in the city, while one is specifically for transit to and from the heavily-trafficked ski destination, Park City.
Everyone was offered the opportunity to board the bus and walk through it to see the different features. For instance, one of the city buses had an accordion-like mid-section, giving longer buses ease of mobility. The buses are just one of UTA’s many projects that are underway, and they will be on the roads soon!
