Naturalization Ceremony for 132 Citizenship Applicants at the Utah State Capitol
Hosted by USCIS and Rep. Norm Thurston

What:            

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and Representative Norm Thurston will host a naturalization ceremony for 132 citizenship applicants from 49 countries at 10 a.m. Friday, September 30.

Special remarks will be by Abdou W. Niang, Goldman Sachs vice president Securities Division Operations.

Dr. Robert Harter, Park City Christian Center executive director, will be the master of ceremonies. Laura McNeer, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Salt Lake City director, will administer the oath. The Madrigal Choir from the Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts will sing the national anthem.

The immigrants are originally from American Samoa, Argentina, Belize, Bhutan, Bosnia- Herzegovina, Brazil, Burma, Burundi, Chile, China, Columbia, Congo-Kinshasa, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Finland, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Guinea, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Kenya, Lebanon, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, Nepal, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Romania, Russia, Rwanda, Samoa, Somalia, South Africa, South Korea, Tonga, United Kingdom, Venezuela, Vietnam and Western Samoa.

After the ceremony, on-site voter registration will be available for new the U.S. citizens.
