Speaker of the House Becky Lockhart has appointed Rep. Neal Hendrickson, D-West Valley City, to fill a vacancy on the legislative Redistricting Committee. Hendrickson replaces Rep. Jackie Biskupski, who left the committee citing personal reasons. Hendrickson is the longest serving member of either party in the Utah House of Representatives.
“Rep. Hendrickson has the knowledge and experience to contribute to the difficult and important redistricting process,” Lockhart said. “He’s a great addition to the committee.”
The decision was made after consulting with Minority Leader David Litvack.
“Over the years, Neal has developed an ability to work across the aisle on sensitive and complex issues,” Litvack said. “He also brings a critical geographic perspective when it comes to redrawing Utah’s political lines.”
