Glendale Middle School in Salt Lake City was selected as one of 114 schools in the U.S. to receive a ConnectED grant from Apple – Jackson Elementary School in Salt Lake City is also a grant recipient. The goal of the initiative is to enrich K-12 education by empowering teachers with technology and training and provide students with personalized learning opportunities.
Glendale Middle School teachers received iPads, MacBook Airs, Apple TVs and projectors in January and have been working with Apple Professional Learning Specialists to integrate the technology into the classrooms.
“This program provides teachers and classrooms with updated technology and will enrich students educational experience that can better prepare them for their future careers,” said Speaker Greg Hughes. “I will continue to work diligently with the state board of education and stakeholders to ensure that all Utah kids have the necessary tools to succeed.”
Speaker Hughes spoke the celebration assembly on April 27, 2016, where each student received an iPad. See additional photos here.
